New Zealnd ~sightseeing~

New Zealand has many places for sightseeing. New Zealand is surrounded by the rich nature. So you can enjoy a fine view you go anywhere. Over 10 percent of the country is World Heritage Site. There is Tongariro National Park in center of northern island. You can see an active volcano here. Te wahipounamu is in southeast part. You can see a lot of mountain and forests and fjord. Fjord was made by the ice age and surrounded by volcano, primeval forest, a crater lake and river. You can enjoy sightseeing with plane. There are lairs of rare animals (albatross, sea lion, penguin and so on) in New Zealand Sub-Antarctic Island. Kaikoura is famous for whale watching. This is the only place to see whale without circumstance around the world. There is a 98 percent chance that you can see whale. You can experience bungee jumping in Taupo and Rotorua is famous for hot springs.

Downtown Hendersonville

I’ll tell you about the place where is held the apple festival. The place’s name is“Downtown Hendersonville”. Hendersonville has the second largest downtown area in Western North Carolina. Main street through the commercial area with beautiful planter boxes and there are more than 100 shops and almost 20 restaurants during apple festival. In addition, various events are held at Hendersonville. Tour and concert and celebration is almost held except apple festival on autumn. ☆Halloween☆

I’ll tell you about Halloween. Maybe you associate autumn festival with Halloween. Halloween is held the last day on October. On the night of that day, children wear terrible costume (witch and ghost and so on) and make the rounds of nearby houses and shout “trick or treat”. Children are usually gave candies and chocolates. But they can trick if they don’t like treat. First Halloween was held at Celtic countries several thousand years ago and changed Christian festival in medieval times. Halloween means eve of the saint day. Halloween’s traditional color is black and orange. Then, pumpkins which are chipped terrible face are displayed near the door to exorcize demons and celebrate crops during Halloween. These pumpkins are called Jack-o’-lantern. Halloween is mainly held at Anglo-Saxon countries.

MY FAVORITE MOVIE

Do you like watch movie? I like very much! I have ever been watching a lot of movies and I watched many movies on this summer vacation. For example, “OCEAN’S 13”, “CATCH ME IF YOU CAN”, “VANTAGE POINT”, “SEX AND THE CITY” and so on. Of all others, the movie which I would like to recommend is “MY LIFE WITHOUT ME”. This one was produced in Canada and released in the year 2003. This title is known to “Sinumadenisitai10nokoto” in Japan. I watched this movie on DVD. This story is a certain woman’s story. The woman’s name is Ann. She married when she was young and she has two children. She was not rich, but she lived happily with her family. But one day suddenly she was struck terrible stomachache and carried to the hospital by ambulance and she was told that she has a terminal cancer. She is young, so her cancer already spread all over. What do you do if you were told that you have a terminal cancer? Maybe I do what I want and I spend time with my family and friends. In her case, she wrote the paper that what she does by she will die. Then it was just 10. She doesn’t tell anyone about her illness and she accomplished her 10 decision one by one secretly. My favorite scene is Ann record message on tape for her family in the car. The story is sad, but a loving story. Leading actress is Sarah Polley. I think maybe there are many people who don’t know this movie. Please watch this movie!

☆My Summer Vacation☆

I went to Takayama for two days with my friends on summer vacation. It took me three hours with the train from Nagoya. Takayama has many old buildings and beautiful river. Takayama called a second Kyoto. So there are many persons from another country. First day we ate famous food in Takayama as we walked. For example Hida beef and dumplings and Chinese noodle and so on. Especially I thought beef is very good! We went to temple too. The hotel where we stayed was very nice. That hotel was Japanese style and there was a spa. We enjoyed the game and chat at night. Second day we walked the street and bought gifts for my family and friends and me. Sarubobo is famous doll in Takayama and almost store was sold this doll. Then Takayama is well known morning market. Many store line the roadside and farmers sell vegetable, fruits, rice which they grew. I bought peaches. Peaches were so sweet. An accident was happened on my way home. We took the opposite train. So it took me about five hours! But it is in nice trip too. I ate many foods for two days and get a little fat. I took many photos and had a pleasant memory. I would like to see the famous festival if I will go Takayama again. The festival hold spring and fall.
Takayama is good place to trip. Please go there if you have a chance!
